Obituary

G. L. Brightharp & Sons announces the transition of Mr. Abraham Dunbar who entered into rest December 28, 2025.

Mr. Dunbar, a native of Barnwell County, retired from the Savannah River Site as a Crane Operator. He served in the Korean Conflict of the United States Army. He was a member of Runs Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Sanders Dunbar; three sons, Charles Vernon (Denise) Dunbar, Carl Anthony (Darlene) Dunbar and Brandon Roderick (Abijah) Dunbar; grandchildren raised in the home; Kenya (Lee) Bates, Christopher Dunbar and Torrian (Kendall) Walker; a sister, Leona Stallings; godson, Travis Trammell; fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Runs Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Stevie Berry officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 pm until 5:30 pm Friday at the funeral  home.
