Obituary

It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Albert "Bill" Curry who entered into rest February 10, 2025.

Mr. Curry, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of Mims Grove Baptist Church. He was a Mechanic. He was the organizer of Bill Curry and the Sensational Five. He sang with other groups: to name a few, The Singing Stars and Add Mims and the Spiritual Seven.

Survivors include a daughter, Velma Lakes; two brothers, Elder Jessie (Min. Roberta) Curry and Deacon Nehemiah (Willie Mae) Curry; three sisters, Rosa Morton, Lillie Mae Wright and Willie Mae (Rev. Calvin) Coach; three grandchildren, Kilya Simmons, Kenya Truitt and Jay'Mari Kemp; a devoted friend, Rosena Dennis; special friends, Deacon Dan Curry, Wade Smith and John Henry Jackson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 12 pm Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Mims Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Sandy Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Mims Grove Cemetery.  Viewing will be held from 2 pm until 5:30 pm Monday at the funeral home.
