It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mrs. Annie Lou Hawkins who entered into rest July 31, 2022.

Mrs. Hawkins was a native of Aiken County and was employed by the Aiken County School District for twenty-seven years at North Augusta Middle School. She was a member of Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess, Secretary of the Senior Choir and North Augusta/Augusta District Club.

Survivors include her children, Hattie M. (David) Lanham, Annie M. (Hamp) James, Mamie (John) Ardis, Geneva (Rev. Gerald) McKie and Thomas L. (Petrina) Hawkins, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Judy Hawkins; thirty-seven grandchildren, sixty-five great grandchildren, sixteen great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 11 am Monday, August 8, 2022 in Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Clarence D. Hill officiating. Mask and social distancing is required. Viewing will be held from 1-5 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
