G. L. Brightharp & Sons announces the transition of Mr. Asa W. Harrison who entered into rest October 9, 2025.

A native of Edgefield County, he attended the Edgefield County Public School System. He retired as a Printer from W. C. Printing Company in New York.

Survivors include a daughter, Tijuana M. Green; a brother, Glenn Harrison; four sisters, Minnie "Esther" Wright, Pauline Harrison, Paulette Ross and Gail (Abner) Thomas; grandchildren, Torkwase Green  Charisma Green and Jamila N. Johnson; a great grandchild, Saniya Larry; two aunts, Rev. Amie C. Mathis and Elease Collins; one uncle, Dea. William Collins; a special niece, Sharonda Wright; a close family Fred E. Fulton; Jocelyn Quarters-Styles (HHA); hospice nurse, Damita Clarke; a host other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where the Rev. Oscar W. Brown is pastor and the Rev. Eric Pressley eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
