Azalee Ramsey Smith

With deepest and profound sympathy, G. L. Brightharp & Sons announces the transition of Mrs. Azalee R. Smith who entered into rest September 18, 2026.

Mrs. Smith, a native of Edgefield County, was a devoted member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where she served in the Choir, as well as, the Women's and Deaconess Ministries.

Survivors include her daughter, Bernice (Charles) Sweeney; one sister, Ida Barnes; one brother, Evans (Ethel) Ramsey; sisters-in-law, Josephine Ramsey and Ruth Ramsey; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a host of Godchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Bethlehem Baptist Church where the Rev., Dr. Craig S. Beasley is the pastor and the Rev. Willie Patten, Jr. eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
