With deepest and profound sympathy, we announce the transition of Mr. Benjamin L. Goodwin, Sr. who entered into rest March 27, 2025.

Mr. Goodwin was a member of Old Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Trustee Board and the Safety Team. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Atlee Griffin Goodwin; one daughter, Armeniqua (Henry) Goodwin-Wallace; two sons, Benjamin L. (India) Goodwin II and Kevin Bernard Goodwin; two sisters, Debra Griffin and Vernell Goodwin; three brothers, Nathan (Mildred) Goodwin, Norman (Sharon) Goodwin and Timothy (YaShonda) Goodwin; five grandchildren, Kevin B. Goodwin II, Bryant LeRoy Goodwin, Jordan C. Wallace, Jada A. Wallace and Jason Merriweather-Goodwin; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday at Old Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where the Rev. Dr. Leonard O. Griffin is the pastor and the Rev. Eldwin Griffin eulogist. Interment will follow in Mt. Canaan Burial Society Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
