With deepest and profound sympathy, we announce the transition of Ms. Betty Jean Padgett Walton who entered into rest July 31, 2025.

Ms. Walton, a native of Saluda County, was a member of Pentecostal Church of God, Johnston.

Survivors include a sister, Mildred Davis; brothers, Cornell Padgett, David (Sharon) Padgett, Jimmy Padgett, Jerry Padgett, Donald Padgett and Ervin Padgett;  devoted niece and nephew, Lisa Minnick and Jamie Padgett; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 9, 2025 at G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary Chapel with Elder Jeremy Grimes officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
