G. L. Brightharp & Sons  announces the transition of Ms. Candice Y. Sims who entered into rest November 18, 2025.

Ms. Sims was a 2003 graduate of North Augusta High School. She worked in Food Service at University Hospital and Pruitt Health. She was a member of First Providence Baptist Church.

Survivors include three children, Jamya Hudson, Jalaeh and Nevaeh Harley; her mother, Sharon Wright Sims; two sisters, Shawntee (Terance) Brown and Tylee Jamison; two brothers, Harold (Coretta) Sims, Jr., and Fernando Walker; grandmother, Mamie Anderson; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am Monday, November 24, 2025 at First Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Heyward Dock, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow in Old Storm Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
