It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Capt. (Ret.) Hattie Rose Elam who entered into rest January 27, 2025.

Capt. (Ret.) Elam was a 1956 graduate of Lucy C. Laney High School and a 1961 graduate of Tuskegee University where she received a Bachelor's Degree. She retired from the Charleston Naval Hospital as Director of Nursing and the United States Navy as a Captain. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and a former member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, North Augusta, SC.

Survivors include, seven nephews, 10 nieces, a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Charles E. Goodman officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2 pm until 6 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
