With deepest and profound sympathy, we announce the transition of Ms. Chartara L. Courtney who entered into rest January 13, 2025.

Chartara, a native of Richmond County, was a 2000 graduate of Butler High School. She earned an Associate Degree from Augusta Technical College. She was a Division Manager for the Waffle House. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Graniteville where she served on the Youth Choir.

Survivors include her children, Janae C. Williams, Quailond A. Newman, RaShawn Wilson and Tavares D. Jones; her parents, Vicki (Rev. James) Abraham and Derrick (Sabrina) Winfrey; two sisters, Tamara L Abraham and Shakira D. Abraham; three brothers, Darrius O. (Michaela) Courtney, James M. (Jennifer) Abraham and Demetrius O. Jones;  grandmother, Irene Abraham; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Good Shepherd Baptist Church of which the Rev. Dr. Clarence Moore pastor and the Rev. Clarence D. Hill eulogist. Interment will be in Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 pm until 5:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.
