It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Ms. Christine Butler Sims who entered into rest March 8, 2023.

Ms. Sims was a 1962 graduate of Jefferson High School. She retired from Avondale Mills as a Supply Clerk. She was a member of Old Storm Branch Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Wilbur (Orris) Sims, Jr., John L. Sims and Frankie L. Sims; two daughters, Natalie Sims Sarvis and Tiajuana (Todd) Wigfall; a niece raised as a daughter, Felicia Butler; a brother, Robert H. Butler; two sisters, Mattie B. Tolliver and Rosa Gail Jefferson; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Old Storm Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Martris Mims officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
