It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. David Barnes, Jr. who entered into rest January 28, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Barnes, a native of Saluda County, was a member and trustee at Pleasant Lane Baptist Church. He also served in the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife, Jessie Gordon Barnes of the home; one daughter, Yvette (Bobby) Robinson of Summerville, SC; one son, Stanley (Sheryl) Barnes of North Augusta, SC; two sisters, Josephine (Rev. Raymond) Adams and Carrie (Edward) Bates both of Saluda, SC; one brother, James (Thelma) Barnes of Saluda, SC; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Pleasant Lane Baptist Church with the Rev. Melvin Searles, Sr. officiating. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
