With heavy hearts, G. L. Brightharp & Sons announces the transition of Mr. David McKie, Jr. who entered into rest February 18, 2026.

Mr. McKie was a member of Young Macedonia Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Minnie McKie; two daughters, Antoinette Williams and Davidra (Brittney) McKie; two sons, Terry (Deana) Williams and David A. (Zaysha-Lee) McKie; seven sisters, Catherine Johnson, Barbara Ann (Horace) Washington, Elaine (Eugene) Thomas, Brenda Young, Gwenda (Donalds) Owens, Rose Counts and Gail (Dwight) Wyatt; six brothers, David (Sharon) Counts, Moses (Sheila) Counts, James (Alma) Counts, Leon (Myra) Counts, Ernest (Gwen) Lundy; adopted daughters, Nolita (Anthony) Lawton and Monek (Rico) D'Antignac; Godmothers, Dorothy Counts and Grace Hillary; a special friend/brother, Bobby (Rhonda) Hill; eight grandchildren; a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Old Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where the Rev., Dr. Leonard O. Griffin is the pastor and the Rev. Byron Robinson eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
