Obituary

It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Dea. Jimmy L. McCullough, Jr. He was born in Edgefield County, South Carolina on October 11, 1947, the son of the late Jimmy McCullough and the late Aftallean Holloway McCullough. He departed this life on August 9, 2022, at his residence.


At the age of 12 years old Jimmy accepted the Lord, Jesus Christ, as his personal Savior. He joined Republican Grove Baptist Church in Edgefield where he was baptized. He moved to Augusta later in life a became a member of Apostolic Holy Temple Church in Hephzibah, Georgia. As another chapter in his Christian walk unfolded, he became a member of Be Ye Holy Church in North Augusta where he was a faithful Deacon and taught Sunday School.


After attending W.E. Parker Public School he became a long-haul truck driver for 28 years. He was a loving and kind man he never met a stranger and would always share The Word of God with them. He left a strong positive impact at United Brokage where he worked for 7 years.


He leaves his love, memories to cherish, and The Word of God with: His son Elder Bruce (Jennifer) Miles, Sr., two grandsons, Bruce Miles, Jr., and Denzel Miles of North Augusta, SC., three granddaughters, Monica, Ayanna, and Alexis Miles of Augusta, GA., two great-grands, Jasiah Young, and Emir McCormick of Augusta, GA., two brothers, Daniel (Amie) McCullough of Edgefield, SC, and Elder George (Iris) McCullough of Los Angeles, California; five sisters, Catherine (Bernard) Butler, Evelyn McCullough, Henrietta McCullough all of Edgefield, SC., Loretta (Clinton) Sherman of Augusta, GA., and Rosa McCullough of Columbia, SC, two aunts, Delores McCall of Elyria, OH, and Mattie Holloway of Edgefield, SC, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, the Gandy Family and friends.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Republican Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe L. Newsome officiating. Masks will be required. The service will be live-streamed via the G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary Facebook Page. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
