It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Deacon Willie Leaverette who entered into rest November 18, 2023.

Deacon Leaverette, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a retired educator, having taught in Aiken, Allendale and Darlington Counties.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Leaverette; two daughters, Terric L. Bland of Conyers, GA and Norma L. (Michael S.) Camp of Aiken, SC; one daughter-in-law, Danyel Leaverette of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren, Elysia (Darrell G.) Bland Lofton of Conyers, GA and Michaela C. (Christopher) Holmes of Peachtree Corner, GA; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church with the Rev. G. L. Brightharp officiating. The service will be live-streamed via the G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary Facebook Page. Interment will follow in Bettis Memorial Park. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
