G. L. Brightharp & Sons announces the transition of Mrs. Deborah M. Houston who entered into rest January 15, 2026.

Mrs. Houston was born in Prince Edward County, Virginia. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Thelmond Houston, Sr.; three daughters, Joanne Edwards, Benita Houston and Crystal Houston; three sons, Anton Houston, Williams Houston and Thelmond (Brenda) Houston, Jr.; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Bethany Baptist Church with the Rev. Russell Brisco officiating. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
