G. L. Brightharp & Sons announces the transition of Reverend Dexter E. Smith who entered into rest November 24, 2025.

Rev. Smith, a native of Aiken County, was a member of Bell Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Francine Smith; two daughters, Shantonia Isaac and Crystal Smith; a son, Dyrell Miller; his father, John Smith, Sr.; two sisters, Anita Smith Dukes and Jessica Smith; two brothers, John (Melissa) Smith, Jr. and Michael Smith; three grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Bell Grove Missionary Baptist Church where the Rev. Charles Matthews is pastor and the Rev. Lester Smalls eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
