G. L. Brightharp & Sons announces the transition of Ms. Dora L. McKenney who entered into rest December 8, 2025.

Ms. McKenney, a native Pensacola, FL., was 1961 graduate of George Washington High School in Port Saint Joe, FL and received her Bachelors Degree in 1979 from Rutgers University in Newark, NJ. She was a member of Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Alma (Alex, Sr.) Fumbah; chosen children Rosalyn (Michael) Stitt and Orzell Christopher Whiting; a sister, Barbara Moultrie; a brother, Willie Baldwin; eight granchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 19, 2025 at Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church with the Rev. Clarence Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will held from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
