Obituary

It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Doris Houston who entered into rest January 25, 2022.


Mr. Houston was a native of McCormick County and a member of Bethany Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for over fifty years. He was a United States Army Veteran. He retired from Hamburg TXX as the best welder in his department.


Survivors include his daughters, Dianne (Eugene) Williams, Silenda (Anthony) Mosley and Doris (Carlos) Ruiz; sons, Gerald Houston, Sylvester (Betty) Houston, and Ira (Gilda) Houston; a brother, Thelmond (Deborah) Houston; daughter-in-law, Bernice Houston; 17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 23 chosen grands and great grandchildren; a devoted niece Felicia (Tony) Green; and a host of other relatives and friends.


Graveside services will be held at 12 pm Monday, January 31, 2022 in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Russell Brisco officiating. Mask and social distancing will be observed. Viewing will be held from 2-5 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
