It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Earl McKinney, Sr. who entered into rest November 6, 2022.

Mr. McKinney was a 1953 graduate of Lucy Craft Laney High School. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and a member of Second Providence Baptist Church where he served on the male chorus and ushers ministries.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Cooks McKinney; two sons, Earl (Kioka) McKinney, Jr., and Brian Christopher McKinney; two daughters, Avis McKinney Johnson and Wanda (Karlos, Sr.) Birt; a brother, Charles McKinney; twelve grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Second Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Albert M. James officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Mask and social distancing will be observed. Viewing will be held from 2-5:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.
