IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eric G
Samuels
September 3, 1985 – September 2, 2022
Mr. Eric G. Samuels entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 2, 2022, surrounded by family and friends.
A native of North Augusta, Eric was baptized at Good Shepherd Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Essie Mae McIntyre and Reverend Dr. Clarence Moore. He graduated from North Augusta High School and later attended Aiken Technical College and the University of South Carolina Upstate. He participated in numerous Walt Disney Company internships and enjoyed visiting the theme parks with his family and friends, sharing his passion and expertise with them. Most recently, Eric was employed as an Operator at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions.
While Eric relished opportunities to golf, cookout, sip on Bourbon, watch his beloved Gamecocks, and tell dad jokes, more than anything he was most proud to be a son, brother, husband, father, and supportive friend. Eric was a natural leader, who was genuine, possessed a quick wit, and exuded positivity. Those who knew him were truly honored to have been a part of his life.
The outpouring of support Eric received over this past year during his illness is a testament to how much he meant to so many, and it brought much comfort to his family. His legacy endures through his children and the cherished memories we all have of him. He would not want us to mourn his passing. Rather, he would want us to use our talents and blessings to help those in need.
Eric was preceded in death by his beloved maternal grandmother, Mary Jane Johnson, paternal grandmother, Leomie Samuels, and his aunt, Rosanna Hammonds.
He is survived by the love of his life, Candice Evans Samuels; his children, Charles and Aubrey; his parents, Charles and Mattie Samuels; his sister, Natasha DePalma (James); his in-laws, Steve and Cindy Evans, and Crystal Frisina (Michael); his godparents, James and Barbara Dandy; a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins; and innumerable friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Charles and Aubrey's college fund.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 5:30 PM on Monday, September 12, at G.L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary (614 West Avenue, North Augusta, SC). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 13, starting at 4:00 PM, at G.L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary. A repast will follow the celebration for friends and family at Julian Smith Barbecue Pit (3 Milledge Road, Augusta, GA).
Professional Services are under the care of G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary-North Augusta.
