It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Eugene Hampton who entered into rest May 31, 2024.

Mr. Hampton, a native of Wilkes County was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Washington, Georgia. He was employed by Dillard Paper Company for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria J. Ross Hampton; a son, Eric C. Hampton; two brothers, Willie Ed Hampton (Cora) and Willie Lee Hampton (Juanita); two grandchildren, Zaeric and Braydin Hampton; brother-in-law, Freddie Ross (Sandra); sisters-in-law, Annette Ross and Gwendolyn Denchi; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Simmon Ridge Baptist Church where the Rev. Anthony Broadwater is the pastor and the Rev. J. R. Hooper eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2 pm until 5:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.
