With deepest and profound sorrow, we announce the transition of Mrs. Florence Nealous Cooks who entered into rest April 19, 2025.

Mrs. Cooks, a native of McCormick County, was a 1955 graduate of Lucy C. Laney High School. She was a member a member of Second Providence Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Thomas Cooks; six daughters, Sherry (Rufus) Smith III, Gayle (Frankie) Coleman, Carla Cruz, Lethea (Wayne) Cochran, Deanne Cooks and Inger (Elias) Camacho; four sons, Carnel Scott (Kim) Cooks, Patrick (Eva) Cooks, Donny (Jennifer) Cooks and Ronny Cooks; two brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; one special nephew, Curry Nealous; one special cousin, Verneda Neely; 33 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many other friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Second Providence Baptist Church with the Rev., Dr. Albert M. James officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
