It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Ms. Florence Williams, entered into rest September 20, 2023.

Ms. Williams, a native of Edgefield County, was a 1962 graduate of Edgefield County Colored High School and earned a certificate in Social Work. She was a Social Worker at Anna Maria Nursing Home for many years and retired from the ENT Clinic at the Medical College of Georgia. She was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Deaconess Ministry, Senior Choir Ministry and taught Sunday school for over 20 years.

Survivors include two brothers, Tom (Ora) Williams and Eugene (Dianne) Williams; two sisters, Gloria Jean Williams and Alice W. Arnold; a devoted niece and godchild, Katina Griffin; a goddaughter, Kennedi Williams; a special and caring cousin, Leon Simpkins; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Second Providence Baptist Church of which the Rev. Dr. Albert M. James pastor and the Rev. Eddie Freeman eulogist. Interment will be in Mr. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Edgefield. Viewing will be held from 4 pm to 6 pm Friday at the funeral home.
