Frances Holloway, 85, of 202 Arbor Terrace, Aiken, South Carolina, peacefully transitioned to
be with God on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. She was the only child born to the late Mary Rowe
and John McKinney, in Ridge Spring, SC, on April 26, 1937.

Growing up during the oppression of segregation, she recognized the importance of education

Both family and friends affectionately referred to her as Granny Frances. She was the
cornerstone of her family and a strong, resourceful, independent businesswoman known for
closing real estate deals, collecting antiques, and driving her pickup trucks. She could frequently
be seen chauffeuring relatives and friends to appointments or errands. She enjoyed tending her
rose bushes, traveling to visit family, spending time at the beach, and actively participating in the
lives of her grands and great grands – from supporting them at educational events, sports
activities, professional endeavors, and importantly, taking them to church.

She is preceded in death by her husband David, her daughter Celie Lydia Band Dunbar, her son
David Holloway Jr., and her grand-daughter Vashon Perry.
