George Edwards, Jr.

With deepest and profound sympathy, G. L. Brightharp & Sons announces the transition of Mr. George Edwards, Jr. who entered into rest September 14, 2026.

Mr. Edwards, a native of Aiken County, was a member of St. John Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Edwards; a daughter, Tacara McKie; a son, Byron Edwards; chosen children, Hope Sims (Marcus Cohen), Larry (Shera) Sims and Lance (Octavia) Sims; daughter-in-law, Melinda Chavous; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 20, 2026 at St. John Baptist Church where the Rev., Dr. Curtis Blocker is the pastor and Pastor Sheldon Ray eulogist. Interment will follow at Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
