With deepest and profound sympathy, we announce the transition of Mr. George Smith, Sr. who entered into rest March 28, 2025.

Mr. Smith, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of United Church of God. He was a former member of the Edgefield County School Board and was a veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife, Mazelle Patten Smith of the home; one daughter, Brenda S. (Anthony Earl) Pollock of West Columbia, SC; one son, George (Gloria Jean) Smith, Jr. of Columbia, SC; one sister, Frances Corley of North Augusta, SC; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, April 5, 205 at United Church of God with Elder George Gore, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
