It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Ms. Gertrude Morris Small who entered into rest April 5, 2025.

Ms. Small was a 1969 graduate of Jefferson High School and a former employee of Fairview Presbyterian Church Early Childhood Center. She was a member of New Beginning Ministries.

Survivors includes two sons, Hamani K. Small and N'Namdi J. Small; a daughter Mosi M. Small; two sisters, Dorothy L. Lockhart and Mary L. Shelton; four grandchildren, Julian Small, Malia Small, Ananda Small and Zoe Small; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at New Beginning Ministries with Bishop Hezekiah Pressley officiating. Interment will follow in Walker Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held from 2:00 pm until 5:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
