With deepest and heartfelt sympathy, G. L. Brightharp & Sons announces the transition of Mr. Gregory Johnson who entered into rest March 23, 2026.

Mr. Gregory, a native of Edgefield County, was a Retired Naval Officer of 20 years.

Survivors include a son, Deion (Shannon) Johnson; his parents, Deacon James and Aldenia Johnson; two sisters, Velma James and Sheila (Wiley) Williams; six grandchildren, Destiny Johnson, Imani Johnson, La'Niyah Johnson,  Nehemiah Wesley, Alaysia Johnson and Aubrey Johnson; a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 3, 2026 at G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Henry Curry, Jr. officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
