Henry Jackson,
Jr.
April 20, 1936 – November 15, 2025
G. L. Brightharp & Sons announces transition of Mr. Henry "June" Jackson, Jr. who entered into rest November 15, 2025.
Mr. Jackson, a native of Edgefield County, was a graduate of Immaculate Conception Catholic High School in Augusta, Georgia. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served his country with honor. After being honorably discharged, he spent time in Florida, where he was invited to try out for the National Baseball League. After suffering a serious injury that ended his professional baseball aspirations, he moved to Washington, DC, where he worked for the United States Postal Service before relocating to Charlotte, NC where he resided for nearly. 50 years. He was baptized at Old Macedonia Baptist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Wade "Mickey" Jackson; a sister, Mattie (Douglas) Burroughs; nieces, Stacie Burroughs and Candace Jackson; a nephew, Marcus (Hana) Jackson; five great-nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, November 21, 2025 in Old Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery where the Rev. Dr. Leonard O. Griffin pastor and the Rev. Limuer Myers eulogist. Viewing will be held from 2:00 pm until 5:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Professional Services are under the care of G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary-North Augusta.
