G. L. Brightharp & Sons announces the transition of Mr. Henry L. McKie who entered into rest of December 19, 2025.

Mr. McKie, a native of Edgefield County, was a graduate of the Edgefield County School System. He retired from the U. S. Steel Company in Philadelphia. He was a trustee of and member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Philadelphia and a member of Old Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church . He was a United States Army Veteran.

Survivors include his wife Erma Harris McKie; a step daughter, Donna (Derrick Hanniba) Blackson; two sisters, Thelma (Roosevelt, Sr.) Collier and Mary "Doll" Bright; a devoted niece, Velma Harvey; brother-in-law, Kenneth Harris; sister-in-law, Elder Sue Fowler; five step grandchildren; Rakia Jordan-Wells, Shamir Williams, Kaliyah Williams, Kharia Williams and Craig Williams; ten great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Old Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Leonard O. Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
