It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Heyward Bibbs who entered into rest August 2, 2021 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Mr. Bibbs was born on April 24, 1950 in Edgefield County to the late Willie, Sr. and Carrie Cook Bibbs.

Heyward joined Science Hill Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and was educated in Edgefield County Schools. He was gainfully employed by AGY for 48 years. After retiring, he volunteered his time at the Golden Harvest Food Bank in Aiken. He loved to cook, take care of his family, and spend time with his grandchildren who he was affectionately known to as "Boosie."

Heyward married Mary Glover Bibbs on August 24, 1972. To this union, two children were born.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Willie (Jack) Bibbs, Jr., Curtis Bibbs, Willie Mealing, and Stewart Bibbs; two sisters, Minnie Bibbs and Shirley Bibbs Moore; and a grandson, Brandyn Jay Bibbs.

Heyward leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Mary Bibbs; sons Anthony "Tony" Bibbs of the home and Byron (Brandi) Bibbs of Graniteville, SC; grandchildren, Baylee and Brelynn Bibbs of Graniteville, SC; one brother, Leroy (Patricia) Bibbs of Saluda, SC; three sisters, Dorothy Bibbs of Johnston, SC, Annie Pixley of Aiken, SC, and Gloria (Ivory) Ligons of Ridge Spring, SC; sisters - in - law, Sharon Bibbs and Delores Mealing; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Sunset Gardens Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Calvin Robinson officiating. Viewing will be held from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
