With deepest and profound sympathy, we announce the transition of Mrs. Jacqueline Griffin Rivers who entered into rest December 22, 2024.

Mrs. Griffin, a native of Richmond County, was a member of Mealing Grove Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess.

Survivors include her husband, James Rivers, III; two daughters, Whitney Griffin and Tabitha Burns; two sons, Larry Wright and James (Rick) Griffin; five sisters, Linda Davis, Julia Jebkely, Melissa Merriweather, Linda Broadwater and Sandra Merriweather; three brothers, Freddie Broadwater, Darryle Ford and Frederick Merriweather; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Mealing Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Joseph Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2-5:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
