It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. James Albert Brantley, Jr., who entered into rest July 4, 2025.

Mr. Brantley was a 1957 graduate of Lucy Craft Laney High School. He was a HST Leader at East Central Regional Hospital-Gracewood, Augusta. He was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church where he served on the Deacons Ministry, FF Cook Choir and as an Advisor of the Ushers Ministry. He was a United States Army Veterans.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Theresa M. Leverett Brantley; two sons, Christopher Brantley and Brandon J. (Ashley) Brantley; two stepsons, Jeremy (Frances) Leverett and Joel Dorsey; grandchildren, Tywann Brantley, Derrick Brantley, Bailey Brantley, Brandon Brantley, Zion Brantley, Zory Brantley, Jhaden Leverett, Jhavon Leverett,and Joel Dorsey, Jr.;

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Mount Vernon Baptist Church with the Rev. Javon Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Southview Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 pm until 5:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.
