It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. James Mims who entered into rest May 20, 2022.

Mr. Mims was a native of Edgefield County. He was a member of Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church where he served on the Voices of Joy Choir, Men in Action and Sons of Thunder Male Chorus.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Prescott Mims, two sons, Henry James Mims (Roxie) and James Mims, Jr. (Patty); two daughters, Janet Marie Scott and Mary Mims; a sister, Mary Bryant; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 11 am Saturday, May 28, 2022 in Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Clarence Hill officiating. Mask and social distancing will be required. Viewing will be held from 2-6 pm Friday at the funeral home.
