It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. James Searles who entered into rest November 29, 2023.

Mr. Searles, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of Republican Grove Baptist Church. He retired from the Logging Industry in 2015.

Survivors include three daughters, Dora Ann Williams, Luntonya Shanta Williams both of Leesburg, FL, and Tiffany Monique Williams of Edgefield, SC; a son, Marcus Holland; a special friend, Surbrenda Williams; two sisters, Bertha Mae Searles of Edgefield, SC and Brenda (Jandan) Pough of Atlanta, GA; one brother, Earnest Martin of Edgefield, SC; 14 grandchildren, Symone Hill, Zaika Jones, Jada James, Jasmine Thomas, Kayla Jones, Kahela Jones, Kierra Jones, Montavis Parks, Travis Moore, Tobias Williams, Tyress Williams, Keshawn Jones, Jamie Jones and Kedauris Jones; one great-grandchild, Ayla Moore; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 8, 2023 at Republican Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Patten, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
