It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. James A. Simmons, Jr. who entered into rest March 20, 2024.

Mr. Simmons, a native of Edgefield County, was a 1978 graduate of Strom Thurmond High School and a member of Simmon Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include three sisters, Vivian McCurry, Demestrist Abney and LaTonya Simmons; three brothers, Jasper Simmons, Earnest Simmons and Orlanda Simmons; a host of other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 PM Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Anthony Broadwater officiating. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Monday at the funeral home.
