With deepest and heartfelt sympathy, G. L. Brightharp & Sons announces the transition of Ms. Jerley R. Hendrix who entered into rest May 15, 2026.

Ms. Hendrix was a native of Columbus County, North Carolina.

Survivors include three daughters, Yvonne Reese, LaRaye Hendrix and LaTisha Hendrix; three sons, Lamon (Margaret) Bryant, Sr., Rossie H. Bryant, Jr. and Gerald Hendrix; three sisters, Gloria Munn, Kathy Munn and Gracie (Farley) Saxton; three brothers, Rochester (Sandra) Blanks, Robert Munn and Lorenzo Underwood; eight grandchildren; a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, May 23, 2026 at the Willie E. Johnson Memorial Chapel of Johnson's Funeral Service in Elizabethtown, NC. Interment will take place at Graham Chapel AME Zion Church in Riegelwood, NC. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday at Johnson's Funeral Service.
