It is deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mrs. Jerlyne Bellamy Lawton who entered into rest February 13, 2025.

Mrs. Lawton was a 1964 graduate of Union High School in Shallotte, NC and a member of Indian Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Isaac Lawton; a daughter, Tonya P. (Glen) Simpkins; a son, Thomas (JoAnn) Sheppard; three brothers, Rudolph (Lillian) Bellamy, Jr., Elmore (Rhonda) Bellamy, Sr., and Rev. Samuel (Evelyna) Bellamy; two sisters, Mary Stevenson and Connie (Marcus) Moore; sister-in-law, Janie (Ansel) Parkinson; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11 am Friday, February, 21, 2025 at New Beginning Ministries where Bishop Hezekiah Pressley is the pastor and Rev. Samuel Bellamy eulogist. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held from 2 pm until 5:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
