With deepest and profound sympathy we announce the transition of Mrs. Jessie Phillips Hardy who entered into rest October 23, 2024.

Mrs. Hardy, a native of Burke County, was a 1961 graduate of Lucy C. Laney High School. She was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church where she served on the Deaconess Ministry and President of Senior Citizens Ministry. She worked in Healthcare Services at University Hospital.

Survivors include a son, Jason E. (Catherine) Hardy; two daughters, Dr. Wolanda P. Hardy and Jennifer Hardy; brothers-in-law, Amos (Josie) Hardy, Sr.,  and Isaiah Hardy; sisters-in-law, Minnie Hawkins and Esteen Mabry; and a host other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12 pm Friday, November 1, 2024 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Augusta, GA with the Rev., Dr. Christopher Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm at the funeral home.
