With heavy hearts, G. L. Brightharp & Sons announces the transition of Mr. John H. "Bo" Abney, Jr. who entered into rest February 7, 2026.

Mr. Abney, a native of Aiken County, was a member of Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church where he served as on the Usher, Finance and Trustee Ministries. He was also a member of the Sons of Thunder Male Chorus. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include his son, John H. (Angela) Abney III; two sisters, Mary Wilson and Eva Martin; two brothers, Albert Abney and Larry Abney; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
