It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. John L. "Bret" Holston who entered into rest January 31, 2025.

Mr. Holston was a 1987 graduate of Midland Valley High School and a member of St. John Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Henry A. (Tabatha P.) Holston; two daughters, Alexis C. (Dillon Jones) Holston and Olivia M. Holston; a brother, Allan Holston; a sister, Deborah (Carl) Simmons; three grandchildren, Caysen L. Ryans, Dillon S.. Jones, Jr., and Sylah R. Jones; aunts, Barbara Conklin, Marigene Gethers, Shirley McMillan, Marilyn Turner, Carolyn Turner, Mary Ann Turner, Marie Wilkerson, Hilda Holmes, Ann Turner and Barbara Turner; uncles, Otis (Evonne) Holston, Edward Holston, John Carroll and Leon Clark; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Thursday, February 6, 2025 at St. John Baptist Church with Dr. Curtis Blocker officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held from 2:00 pm until 5:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
