It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. John Henry Newsome who entered into rest October 25, 2022.

Mr. Newsome was a native of Aiken County and a member and deacon of Old Macedonia Baptist Church. He retired from Southern Roofing, Augusta, GA after many years of service.

Survivors include a daughter, Cathy Grant; a brother, Albert (Carolyn) Newsome; son-in-law, Wade L. Dawkins; three grandchildren, MaKayla Dawkins, Reco (Nichelle) Grant and Lucas (Adrienne) Grant; six great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12 pm Friday, November 4, 2022 at Old Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev., Dr. Leonard O. Griffin officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mask and social distancing will be observed. The service will be live-streamed via the G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary Facebook Page. Viewing will be held from 2-5:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
