It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announced the transition of Mrs. Johnnie L. Mitchell who entered into rest January 5, 2023.

Mrs. Mitchell was a 1959 graduate of Lucy Craft Laney High School. She received an Associate degree from Charleston State University. She was employed by Anna Maria Nursing Home for many years as a CNA. She was a member of Mount Canaan Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Willie Mitchell, Jr.,; two daughters, Marilyn Middleton and Sheila Mitchell Biggs; three sisters, Shirley Sturgis, Richardene (James) Jackson and Mary (Gregory) Bucker; four grandchildren, one great grandson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church with the Rev. G. L. Brightharp officiating. The service will be live-streamed via the G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary Facebook Page. Viewing will be held from 1-5 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
