It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Johnnie Freeman, Sr. who entered into rest March 1, 2022.

Mr. Freeman was a native of Edgefield County and a 1962 graduate of Edgefield County Colored School. At an early age, he joined Bethlehem Baptist Church, North Augusta. He was a truck driver and a veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife, Vurnell McCain Freeman; two daughters, Angela V. Young and Tiffany Freeman; two sons, Johnnie Freeman, Jr., (Martina) and Rev. Lorenzo Williams (Geraldine), a brother, Eddie R. Freeman (Georgia Mae); thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2 pm Saturday, March 5, 2022 in Carey Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Eddie Freeman officiating. Mask and social distancing will be observed. Viewing will be held from 2-5:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.
