It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Johnny W. Plair who entered into rest September 25, 2023.

Mr. Plair, a native of Edgefield County, was a 1966 graduate of W. E. Parker High School and a member of Springfield Baptist Church.

Survivors include a special friend, whom he loved dearly and will cherish his fond memories, Diane Hooper; sisters, Emma Walker of Columbia, SC, Claudine Ryans, Joan (James) Bowman both of Edgefield and Jean (George) Moore of Johnston, SC; brothers, Charlie (Irene) Plair of Jamaica Queens, NY and Theodore (Sherry) Plair of Edgefield, SC; siblings, Willie Adams, Jennie L. (William) Moore, Barbara (Perry) Bussey, Modena (Nathaniel) Stevens all of Edgefield, SC, Sandra Best of Greenwood, SC, Michael Adams of Aiken, SC and Sharon Hammond of Edgefield, SC; sons, Alvin (Cassandra) Plair of Columbia, SC , Devoreau Eutroy (Kawashi) Plair, Antonio (Jonetha) Plair both of Augusta, GA and Hoseau (Christine) Plair of Aiken, SC; daughter, Bertha Miller of Edgefield, SC; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Springfield Baptist Church with the Rev. C. Moses Myers officiating. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
