It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Joseph Coleman who entered into rest May 26, 2024.

Mr. Coleman a native of Manhattan, New York was a graduate of Port Richmond High School, Staten Island, New York. He gained employment at Bonwit Teller & Co in New York City and as a Correction Officer at Arthur Kill Correctional Facility in Staten Island, New York as a Sargent. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was a member of Second Providence Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, A. Louise Key Coleman of the home; a son Joseph (Vanessa) Coleman; a daughter, Michelle (Floyd) Lacey; chosen children, Sheryl Key, Michael Key and Tim (Karen) Key; a sister, Arlene Coleman; two brothers, Gary Coleman and Jimmy Taylor; five grandchildren, four chosen grandchildren and two chosen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday, June 3, 2024 at Second Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Albert M. James officiating. Interment will follow in Second Providence Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4 pm until 6 pm Sunday, June 2, 2024 at the funeral home.
