With deepest and profound sympathy, we announce the transition of Mr. Joseph Newman, Sr. who entered into rest December 31, 2024.

Mr. Newman, a native of Aiken County, was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church (Silver Bluff.)

Survivors include his wife, Winnie C. Newman; one daughter, Victoria (Ronald) Cato of North Augusta, SC; two sons, Joseph (Regina) Newman, Jr. of Raleigh, NC and Jerome Michael Newman of North Augusta, SC; three grandchildren, Joshua O'Brian Newman of North Augusta, SC, William Joseph Jr. and Jada Simone Newman of Raleigh, NC; one brother, Dea. Harry (Margaret) Newman of North Augusta, SC; two sisters-in-law, Hattie L. Newman of Philadelphia, PA and Lucy Newman of Aiken, SC.; stepbrothers, Peter (Mary) Turner of New York and Albert (Phoebe) Turner of Hardeeville, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Wilbert A. Newman, Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 5:30 PM Monday at the funeral home.
