Obituary

It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Ms. Juanita H. Abney who entered into rest December 2, 2022.


Ms. Abney, a native of Aiken County attended Jefferson High School. She was a member of First Providence Baptist Church.


Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Drayton (Floyd Mathis); two sons, Ronald (Sandra) Hightower and Sammie Abney; stepdaughter, Olga Marr (Raymond Johnson); a sister, Mamie Anderson; two brothers, George (Vivica) Hightower and William (Cassie) Merriweather; grandchildren, Sharonaka Hightower, Curtis Hightower, Sr., Byron (Christina) Miller, Isaac Rhobach, Denzel Anderson and Charity Anderson; twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; her companion, Freddie Thomas; a host of other relatives and friends.


Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday, December 10, 2022 in Old Storm Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Alexander Pope, Jr., officiating. Viewing will be held from 2-5:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.



Professional Services are under the care of G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary-North Augusta.
