Obituary

With deepest and profound sympathy, we announce the transition of Mr. Leon Simpkins who entered into rest March 25, 2025.

Mr. Simpkins, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church (Edgefield.)

Survivors include ex-wife; Montine Simpkins; one daughter, Pamela Denise Simpkins; one son, Leon Lamont Broadwater; five sisters, Almeta Jennings, Aldenia (Dea.James) Johnson, Gloria (Rev. Henry) Curry, Annette Simpkins and Bernetta (John) Farrar; two brothers, Thomas (Ethel) Simpkins and Andrew (Fannie) Simpkins, Jr.; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Shaws Creek Baptist Church where the Rev. Michael Walker is the pastor and the Rev. Henry Curry, Jr. eulogist. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Professional Services are under the care of G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary-North Augusta.
